About the ARA

The Andreas Racing Association (ARA) is the Isle of Man's only short circuit motorcycle racing club. We race at the Jurby Motordrome, on the old RAF Jurby airfield in the north of the Island, and have done for around 50 years.

Plenty of well known road racers have raced here over the years, and a lot of them did some of their first racing at Jurby.

We run a race school as part of our meetings. Some of the riders who started there have gone on to race at the Manx Grand Prix, the TT, and at national and international level.

The club is run by volunteers. Members help with marshalling, scrutineering, timing and the running of each meeting.

Where are we?

Jurby is in the north of the Island, about 10 minutes' drive from Ramsey. You can also get there by bus.

The circuit is fairly flat and is a good place to learn. It can be run three ways: the GP circuit clockwise, the GP circuit anticlockwise, and the newer Club circuit.

Jurby often stays dry when the rest of the Island gets rain, but it is exposed and the wind can make a big difference.
